Workshop Summary
Explore the beauty of simplicity in this hands-on workshop focused on the monochromatic color scheme. Under Mark E. Malachowski’s guidance, you’ll learn how to create a complete and visually striking pysanka or batik egg using just a single dye color. This class is perfect for artists who appreciate the subtle power of tone, gradation, and harmony.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to use a single color dye to achieve depth and dimension on your pysanka or batik egg
- Techniques for blending and fading dye using brushes, water, and vinegar to create smooth transitions from dark to light
- Color mixing with a brush to create variations in saturation—all within one color family
- Several blending methods for achieving a polished, monochromatic effect
You’ll start with your own pre-waxed egg (chicken, turkey, or goose), ready to be transformed during the session. Mark will provide a demonstration of all techniques and offer personal guidance as you work.
